iPECS is part of Ericsson-LG Enterprise, former LG-Ericsson, former LG-Nortel, former Goldstar Communication, part of LG Electronics and Ericsson, see their history. iPECS has several desk-phone series, some using an own VoIP protocol called IPKTS: LIP-90xx series. The latest generation of SIP compatible phones is not even advertised on their Webpage: LIP-98xx series.

In some countries, the platform is called LIP-98xx or IP-9800. In the United States, the company Vertical sells them via their brand Wave VIP, for example, Edge 9800 Series IP Phones. Other phone series like the LIP-9000 do not offer SIP. The LIP-9871 must be reset to choose between IPKTS or SIP.
